For most people, this involves a nice corporate party tonight at a company tent. Some will find themselves hopping from tent to tent — wherever they can get free booze from their pals. Others are just going to try not to pass out drunk too close their buddy’s smoker (That singed hair in 2005 taught them a lesson!), or pass out too quickly, to avoid a depantsing and the placing of the team sign “The Butt Champions” on said butt.
Ahh, bring on the mayhem.
But one thing is sure, there will be a cloud of smokey goodness floating high above the West Bottoms this weekend.
I stay away on Friday night. I know it may be hard for some to believe that I would pass up the city’s biggest party, but it’s true. That’s because I’m a busy girl on Saturday.
The cooking demonstrations take place from 12 to 4 p.m. in Wagstaff Theatre. They are a sub-event of Family Days. (Do not be afraid to bring your family down on Saturday, we cover up any half naked people passed out.) We bring in three chefs to share some recipes that you can make in your own kitchen – no smoker needed.
It’s a great event.
It’s also a lot of work.
And while I’m playing it straight tonight, you can rest assured this quirky queen will be sipping on a nice refreshing Boulevard Wheat beer when her job is done tomorrow.
